I thought that too in the beginning but they were from different cities which may have eliminated that possibility.I'm not sure he was emulating Eddie Vedder as people said then, because he might not have heard Eddie Vedder yet when they were writing that stuff
I was stuck in the 80's and really wanted to hate the new music but Core could not be denied. perfectly mixed and opens with that unreal riff and picks up speed from there.Core. Soundtrack to my reckless youth. RIP Scott

longerhas it really been that long
yepThis one. Mannnnnnnn
"I was a superman, but looks are deceiving."
accused of being an STP tribute band.
One of my favorites, gone at 48.
If I recall correctly, the DeLeo brothers were the youngest of 5 or 6 kids, and grew up listening to their older siblings records, including not just Zeppelin, et al, but also Motown, Punk, even Ragtime and Bossa Nova music. (Uh, their parents, I'd assume.)just layin back drinking beer and cranking STP
what a great band; nary a weakness amongst them musically.
I knew a guy (a music store owner) who had heled Dean select the gear that he would later use while playing with STP. He said Dean had some chops that were above and beyond what you heard on their recordings. Shredding, just for the sake of showing off, wasnt really Dean's thing, either.on a side note-
eric the drummer really knew how to play economically deep in the pocket; especially with a busy bassist covering a lot of ground.
he is what made the band groove so hard; it was like he was allergic to crash cymbals.
I love it.

What kind of bass is Robert playing on that acoustic piece?

Pretty great vids from Toronto 2 days earlier. Even a rendition of Vaseline that redeems that last performance that went around. This guy has 4 vids from that night on his channel. Last performance.
