R.I.P. Scott Weiland

Died on the tour bus, man isn't that just the way, always figured him for the type who would die too young. Still sad when it happens. Love STP, may favorite band from that era, glad I got to see them when they reunited in 2009 and they put on a great show. I remember one night in the 90s me and a bunch of friends went to one of those huge night clubs where they played dance and rap all night, then on the drive home Interstate Love Song came on the radio and it was like "hey that's a great song!" especially after listening to night club crap all night. Thanks for the music Scott.

What a bummer. Addiction can be a ruthless slave driver.
I'm reminded of the lyrics of a Halford song called Twist.

Got a grip like steel on wood
This is all for your own good
And If you wanna get away - wanna be free
Wanna get anywhere but right here beside me - you'll have to

Twist, twist, twist away from me
Twist, twist, twist - away
Twist, twist, twist away from me
Twist, twist, twist - away

Wonder why you try to run
Ought to quit admit I've won
No one is gonna hear your cry
Gonna hear you scream
Better get used to knowing it's just in your dreams - that you can

Twist, twist, twist away from me
Twist, twist, twist - away

Twist, twist, twist away from me
Twist, twist, twist - away

Never get away
Never twist away
Never get away

Wanna get anywhere but right here beside me - you'll have to

Twist, twist, twist away from me
Twist, twist, twist - away

Twist, twist, twist away from me
Twist, twist, twist - away

Never get away
Never twist away
Never get away

You're free now.

it's really sad, because scott and some of the guys i know were/are regulars in the LA rehab scene and you're kinda watching them from afar knowing their sick and it's not working

An amazing drummer I play with in one of my bands is a bi-polar refugee form the LA rehab scene. Unfortunately, he's just getting out of jail (30 days) for a second DUI.

Very sad day…I just went to a Wildabouts show in Baltimore back in March, and Scott was awesome on stage, still could deliver vocally. At the same time I can say he was obviously under the influence of heroin and that part of seeing him perform was a bummer,so this does not come as a huge surprise.RIP Scott and thanks for the music you've left behind.
