If you don't know Rabea is an awesome Youtuber and Modern Metal guitar (was in Toska) player but his new release where he plays bass has some seriously incredible bass tone and playing done by him. What I love about Rabea is his taste and the way he can add so much texture to music. His bass playing in this EP has so much texture and nuance that is melded in with his own guitar playing so well.
This is not a man who just slapped in an octave lower copied bassline underneath the guitars and called it done.
In the first song I really love how he kept in all the string noise of the bass and the way that he uses the heavy distortion of the bass but played softer alongside the ambience of the guitars. That is a guitar move and one I have rarely ever heard by a bass player.
Anyway any red blooded bass tone junkies out there this is how it is done! and from a stinking cheese grating cat scratcher!
