I have friends that tell racist jokes but their hearts aren't into them and they're ashamed if they're called out, but on the other side of the coin I have family members with some warped beliefs who are stunned that I don't share them. I can't complain to much tho; I've met supremacists who scare the hell out of me. Having a lot of familiy in East Texas and further East than that I'd be surprised if I didn't have ancestors that wore hoods despite the denials of living relatives (the same ones who can tell me what's in the heart of the *insert minority of choice here* man).
My biggest shame? How many years it took me to realize the biggest problems between people aren't their skin color or sexual orientation but rather their bigotry. I'm still growing up.
