Rack case covering question

I just finished building a 3 space rack for my amp. Looks pretty good, so far. I wanted to know if anyone had experience using rubberized truck bed liner as a case covering instead of tolex? Is this a viable option? I have doubts about my tolex covering abilities, and am not a big fan of case carpet.

I used 3/4 plywood, wood glue, and lots of screws, so it's plenty sturdy. I plan to buy some amp corners and side handles. I am wondering how well the textured truck bed material would stick to rough plywood. Not trying to make it too pretty, just rugged good looks.
