Rackmountable power amp for my oldschool rig?

Rack mount pre, recently replaced a BBE BMax with a SansAmp RBI.

most of the rack rigs are using a rackmount preamp. I was hoping to avoid that.

well similar enough I didn't feel the need to start a new thread. I also didn't figure out till after bumping the thread that pedal preamps may not push the power amp.

Depends on the pedal....but many of them are more than capable.

A Grace Bix will easily drive a power amp and makes a great foundation for a pedal rig. Mesa Subway DI also looks like a great product for this kind of setup.

QSC and Crown are still easily available. What pedal will you be using?

I'm not completely sure, but I'm partial to Trickfish Minnow/Trilobyte or similar (Mesa subway, Messenger DI). I currently own a bassflyrig, so that will probably be part of the equation. I've been distracted with some wiring stuff lately, so I haven't been able to dig into what can feed the power amp. Some of these high end DI's like the Trilobyte only make sense fiscally if it can also replace a different part of rig.

You would want to match the sensitivity of the amplifier with the output of the pedal.
IME most pedals don't have a lot of output so using a Crown, Crest, or other that has a sensitivity switch for .775V would be a good start.
