radial bass bone ??? help me out if you can

been looking at pickin one of these up. checked the users manual today and it looks like in order to use the individual input channels for two settings i would have to plug the different basses directly into the channel....

for instance if i want a mix for my Tbird as the main instrument i set it up in input 1, then if i wanna use my PBass i set it up in input 2. so does that mean i have to swap my instrument cable from 1 to 2......can i use a "Y" type splitter so i can just swap basses and not switch my cords around on my pedal board....thanks for you help.

The way the BassBone works is that it has 2 inputs/channels, each bass would have it's own cable going into the bassbone. From the bassbone you would either run a cable out to your pedals and then amp or just directly to your amp. The unit also has an FX loop if you prefer to run your pedals that way. the diagram on this link: http://www.tonebone.com/tb-bassbone.htm shows how it can be wired pretty clearly I think. Hope this makes sense, if not let me know and I will try to explain it better.

Like Munji said, channel 2 has a three band eq while the eq from your amp which goes into channel 1 of the bass bone would be your eq for Chanel one.


And if you're using two basses just plug each one into it's own input and when you want to use bass 1 or 2 just hit the given Chanel with the foot switch or you can just have one bass going into channel one and you can switch between channel 1(your amp and channel 2(that has the three band eq section).

No, you don't have to swap the cable on the 'Bone. Just unplug from one bass and plug into the other. Stomp the Channel Select to switch the channel.

From the manual ...

"USING THE BASSBONE WITH ONE BASS
Start by making your connections as described in Section 4 and make sure you are connected to input-1. Bassbone automatically feeds both channels when the input-jack on channel-2 is not used.
As discussed earlier, when only using one bass, the Bassbone can be used like a 2-channel pre-amp whereby one can transition between channel-1 and channel-2 by simply depressing the toggle switch."

One cable, two basses, two channels.
