I like cranky old buggers. There is more useful information in this review than I've seen almost anywhere. There was another such review on TB a quite awhile back describing different gear, was this you? If not, we have two grumpy old codgers which is a good thing.

it was probably me. And thanks for the kudos. I did review a bunch of random stuff that was in the shop a while back - new Ampeg, a Mesa Wimpy Block 750 (750 watts my a**) it was all bloody awful.

Great review...thanks. I also did not love the UL502, PS600. My most recent purchase the 902C, is akin to the PS600 power-wise being a switching type at only 14lbs. It is massively powerful, and voiced quick modern and wide. (as our well written pal Kjung describes this type of amp) I bought it because my initial test in my practice room revealed a much more pleasing depth of tone and accuracy than either the 502 or 600.
Upon using the 902C live I realized it was closer to what I wanted, but still not my sound. It matches up very well with the Epi cabs and the Bergantino Mini Stack. The 902C lacked that mortar cannon kick in the chest dept that my DB750 provides every time for my 'big gun' amp. If you don't mind the weight you should try one. There is one for sale on this site currently.

is defintitely a monster, just too heavy for me, and I often set up in stereo as I use effects.
My next step is a couple of Berg IP112 and a high-end preamp. I'll keep the Eden till then.
And yeah, we should start a splinter group, like the 'Ohta faction' on the original 'Iron Chef'. We'll have to get some white garb and carry banners.
