Nice. This chick is all over Facebook giving away free cd's. She has a good band.
Thank you Lee for transcribing an interesting (and, challenging) bass-line.
The bass-line has all the necessary elements to enjoy playing it. The rhythmic bass-line has enough "ghost" notes and position shifts, even some slides to spend some time/work on it, which could produce good and beneficial results.
The song, not only the bass-line, is flowing
at a pretty fast - 105 bpm - tempo (no time to dilly-dally.)The bass line does not have any elements of noodling -"just-play-something."
I've listened to a live version of the song and, I'm not "ecstatic" about the rhythmic group's rendition of it.
I've heard a little bit "too many (computerized) bass notes" added to the line, which hid the "breathing" of the groove, plus, added some unnecessary rhythmic "disturbance."

If you stopped by, then, I'd like to hear your opinion about the bass-line from the song, "Housewife."
Could you play it with proper articulation at that tempo?
Would you play it on the 5-string bass?
How would you approach the Eb on the 4-string bass?

OK, I did listen to it while reading your transcription. That is a very good and accurate transcription, although I can’t really hear the bass in the bridge. Could you hear it? Or is your transcribed line just your best guess?
I could. I am familiar with that kind of a funky syncopated line.
I would, because that’s what I have.
Your best option would be to tune everything 1/2 step lower, and play it in E on the bass. The only other solution is to play all the measures with a low E flat up one octave.
It's not my(!) transcription. Lee has transcribed it, and I'm very grateful to Lee for doing it.
I used Moises to highlight the bass. I transcribed what I thought I heard. Is it correct? I'm not sure. It’s a subjective process, but I feel that I'm improving.
Lee has transcribed Bridge correctly - in my opinion.
Maybe, I would add just two notes in Measure 66.
When I listened to it, I could hardly hear the bass. Based on the accompaniment, none of the notes are wrong, I just couldn’t hear the bass playing them. All I really wanted to know was how you heard them, because I couldn’t. I’m not familiar with Moises– I will have to look into it. I think you did a great job transcribing. Especially the complex rhythms.

Lee(!) has transcribed that bass-line, and I'm very thankful to Lee for it.
I've enjoyed listening to the bass-line of that song and asked Lee to transcribe it.
And Lee has transcribed it and entered his transcription into a digital format.
When I trying to hear a bass-line, my main, my first,... my last resort is Transcribe!
It's just my personal choice.
I can try(!) to decipher not clearly pronounced bass notes with Transcribe - and I like it, but to enter the bass-line into any digital format - it's a (hard) job that requires patience and time. You must enter one note at a time. That's why I'm grateful to my TB friends who use their time and make bass transcriptions digital, which is, almost, a must nowadays.
About Moises or any other similar software.
Yes, it's extremely comfortable and fast, and provides us with (up to) 90% accuracy of the bass line.
Within very few minutes, one could have the bass line's most important points, its template, sketch, etc...
It's so easy to take that audio recording of the bass-line and show it to yourself, to others.
And, yes, Moises like other "splitters" are not perfect.
For example, I've tried to use Moises to split/separate instruments from a song - "Circles" by Ten Years After - a song, that we were discussing about in the General Forum, but Moises could not separate the bass-line.
Yes, it's a nicely syncopated bass-line with three, rhythmically (slightly) different patterns.
Into and Bridge - 1
Verse - 2
Chorus - 3
The bass-line's notes' choices allow me to use 3 or 4 fingers of the right/picking hand, including Thumb.
Let's just take a look at my fingering choices of the first measure in Verse.
My right/left hand fingerings as Left and Right on the attachment.
Left hand fingers on the top, right hand fingers on the bottom.
I play the 4-string bass, and my Eb is on the A string.
The right/picking hand goes as Thumb, Index, Middle, Index, Middle and I "hammer" the note F.
My left hand fingers are as 1, 3, 4, (shift) 2, 1 and 4.
Because of the ghost (dead) note, B natural, I need to shift my left hand position.
Plus, instead of just playing one ghost note at the end of the bar, I do a "raking" ornament of ghost/dead notes with right hand's Ring, Middle, and Index fingers while my Thumb sits/mutes the Eb on the A string.
I have never looked into a program that can manipulate the pitch and tempo independently. Those sound like great tools to hear those hard to hear bass lines. I will have to look into them.
