Rat fur?? Why?

The only thing I like better than rat fur is the old Kustom tuck & roll sparkle covering. That seems to have fallen out of vogue.
and what's happening with an amp that hair & smell are an issue? On second thought, maybe I don't wanna know.........

With the high grades of rat fur, it really is more impact resistant and doesn't show scrapes/scuffs too badly. The problem is that most manufacturers do not use the highest grades (name brand, USA manufactured, like Ozite) because it's as expensive as Tolex type coverings and is harder to work with (to get a nice, tight finish) . I agree completely that the cheap grades are really awful, and have given the material a poor reputation.
