I give you props on the EMG's. They sound sweet. Had to cram that BQC system in there.

You'll notice it doesn't say Lyte anymore.:thumbsup: But the Lyte didn't bother me as much as the turdburst.

Oh yeah, putting the BQC in there is a real jigsaw puzzle. I actually blew a BQC out by accidentally touching the boards together first time I tried. And that was before I got a deal, so that sucked ;) But I love it now that it's installed safely.

so i'm thinking about doing a refinish on my SX p-bass but i don't know what color to do. i like a nice bright green but the tint on the neck doesn't go too well with that color so i'm thinkin of something a little more traditional. the body is also so i'd prefer not to do a natural finish because i feel like it wouldn't match the neck well, does butterskotch blonde work on alder bodies? i'll probably just end up doing a white refin via reranch

well here goes..
They have a dimension & depth to them that I've never heard from a P pickup , nuances and color like nothing else . Very responsive to touch it's a wonderful thing . As for your usual kinda terms for a pickup it's not super tight but rather it has this chewy kinda solid bottom that reacts to your attack, a very strong and colorful midrange that has sweet overtones with that depth and a shimmer and sweet topend with perfect clarity . Not cold or spikey . What I really like about it is you can get all of this from your hands with ease it just responds so well to touch .Crazy huh :) try one and see

Yeah, I think I'm gna get a set. If ya get a chance can you give me a length of the J? I measured all my basses today, all of them are just under 3 3/4 whereas my Spector w emgs and squires are about 3 5/8 only short pups will fit the squires of which I have 4

sorry .. confused.. are we talking about the above p bass ? that is a standard split P . I do have the Area p/j set in the pj bass that set is

What is the high build primer all about you used? I am about to prime, paint, clear using duplicolor as well on a body. I already did a neck with it but I didn't need primer. This time I had to sand to the wood

India Ink finish...
So I jumped right in , soon as I saw it on my test piece which is a Stew mac sanding block I knew I'd do it . This stuff dries almost as fast as it goes on and doesn't wipe off .

That is one coat , I used a foam brush and it took about 5 min . It dries so fast I could finish it today but I gotta run for now . I did finish my test piece though , one quick wipe of Shellac and one quick wipe of Min Wax wipe on poly . I think this is exactly what I was hoping for . I'll finish it up tomorrow . Cheers. oh talk about quick , easy and cheap, this takes the award . Also it thins with water , cleans up with water and it has shellac already in it so it seals as well . None more Black

Ingenious how do you think it will hold up? Making me wonder about yellow/red burst.
