final product. 1.5 cans of Reranch Surf Green and 1/2 can of clear. Still haven't polished as I didn't want it to look too new....I'm happy with it.

I am NOT a fan of black basses but, WOW!!I took a stock SX bass and upgraded virtually everything on it, including a charcoal metallic/prism paint job, for a GTG raffle prize a few years ago.
Painted the headstock, even made a one-off logo, then sealed it all under a ridiculous amount of clearcoat.
The "prism" effect wasn't as obvious unless under very bright lighting (such as a flash). Wasn't perfect, but still a fun project that came out pretty well. The winner of the bass still has it, in fact.
Yeah, that's definitely a good time waiting to happen.

Something about the name "P Lyte" just seems wrong to me, but I agree, that Nutdog has built one good looking bass.
I never get tired of looking at this bass. If only I had some skills, I'd take a run at replicating this.

Anybody here ever clear coated their bass with Spraymax 2k urethane? How many coats/cans did you use? I want to clearcoat with a durable finish.
