Hi,
I've been using d'Addario EPS-300-5 strings for many years as it's to me the the best string I've ever tried yet. Massive low end, super bright, stays clean "forever"...
However, I noticed the some quality issues, mostly dead/muted strings on about one set over 4.
Today, I swapped the strings on both of my 5 strings Sadowsky basses with a new set. However, on one of my basses, the B string was simply the worst I ever played. The string was rattling like I never heard before, around the 7th string. I had to remove the string, and put back the old one. That was the only way to have my B tone back.
Have you ever experienced this before? Is it normal to face such a high rate of dead strings?
Thanks
