RC-2 question

1. the RC-2 waits for your signal to start recording once you stomp on it, but if i have a really buzzy fuzz on before the looper you think it would take the buzz as my signal?

2.what do you think would be more useful; the drum machine on rc2 or the fancy delay and stuff on SMMWH?

There's no telling about your fuzz triggering the auto record until you try it.
As for the comparison to the SMMH, it depends on whether you want a very flexible delay or a drum machine. I would be wary of the RC-2 as IMO it has 1 too few foot switches. I had the RC-20xl and don't think I would have wanted the RC-2. I also sold it to buy a delay not unlike the SMMH. I would definitely prefer the SMMH as IIRC it has tap tempo and can loop and delay at the same time. That said, I had the RC-20xl for a couple years and definitely used it a lot. It's great for solo work, practice etc. but as I got into a band situation again it became less useful and I think it's less flexible than the looping delays in general.

if your fuzz triggers it,MAYBE record it clean then run the looper through the fuzz. maybe impracticle. or kick the fuzz of RIGHT as you start playing the loop.

well i wont be able to buy it or get it anytime soon unless luck turns my way. i am waiting for a friend to come to India form the USA

I use a RC-2 and really like it. I currently only use it to trigger a cpl of prerecorded loops and effects, but it is useful. I think that the drum tracks would only be useful if you are using it as a practice device as well. I am not sure that the SMMH can store the loops so if you want somthing that you can trigger go for the boss...

The RC-2, with the simple drum tracks, is really great for solo practice in quantized mode. I don't think it would work in a typical rock band, especially if the band has a drummer. The infinitely small shifts in tempo that a human imparts just don't work for long with a standalone device like the RC-2. But, it immediately became and remains one of my favorite practicing tools. The only time I used the 'auto start' mode, I thought it was too sensitive. (maybe Boss primary included it for dubbing in backing tracks from a computer / cd player) I don't 'trust' it anyhow and it's not necessary when using the drum click because the drums sound (and the LED blinks, along with red on the '1') before the recording begins. I think if you also want a delay effect, you're best served by having a dedicated looper plus a delay (or 2).

i am not looking to use the drum machine while am with the band at all. but i have been thinking that the SMMWH's looping mechanism seems to be a little more easier to make precise loops time wise :confused:
