Chico,
Again, I have no idea who you are since you are using a screen name.
Also, no email goes unanswered around here.
I did notice some communications from you in the inbox here on the forum, but nothing has come in thru regular email channels.
I did respond to those forum message the other day and asked that you contact me directly through regular support channels, so we don't waste the time of forum users here. (to that end, this will be my last response to you on this forum regarding support issues-please use the normal support channels)

The free update you mention will be posted when it is finished.

I'd like to help you and get your issues addressed but you've got to do your part.

Some might say I'm asking valid pre-purchase questions.

I will not buy your product while its license keys are handled the way they are. It's the same reason I don't buy music with DRM. (And here's a great real-world example: Invalid Link Removed)

I only purchase software that I can use indefinitely and under no one's control but my own. My posts here are meant to serve as information to others that they will be unable to have that freedom with your software as it is currently sold.

Oh. My. God. It's freaking $70 dude. Get a life.

This is a legitimate product and carries its own copyright.
I know this is old, but the website is still up. BLAKE - I don't know if you are intentionally not answering the point that Don is raising or are just missing his intent so let's spell it out.

Are you paying royalties to the publisher's of the music you are using (NOT to the"owners" of the the illegal original edition Real books) and are you paying mechanical license for use of the recordings that you have reproduced and are selling?

If you are, great good on you. If you are NOT, then that's theft of intellectual property. It doesn't matter if somebody (the guys who xeroxed the original) stole it first, it's still stealing.

I purchased the RealBook Software from Blake Milton’s website. I was a bit sceptical at first because the site is a bit too sure of itself with all that it offers. And much too much guffaw.
When the DVD arrived guess what! It never worked it would not load and when I got back to Blake he wasn’t best pleased with me. He accused me of “hostile accusations!”

On his website after you have paid your money you are informed that the product is not returnable and your money is not refundable and because I mentioned this in my email he took offence. He told me that I needed to end the dispute and lose the attitude.

I had entered into a dispute with the seller through Paypal over the $102.75 the software had cost and by some weird and wonderful means Blake Milton escalated my dispute himself to a Paypal claim, the seller asked Paypal to investigate the case and decide the outcome and he thus ended all communication with me.

Paypal have told me that the claims process only applies to the delivery of goods. Therefore they are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a refund.

I am now in possession of a useless RealBook DVD and out of pocket $102.75.

As a follow up to Ed's comment I think this is related for sure and I expect this company's future may be limited. Unless of course Ed's questions are answered.

Depending on how events in the article go it may well be the end of the big labels. Got any Chet Baker copyrighted tunes on that Realbook?

That said, I do like the concept. But don't see how it can survive. Also in sales technique the main objective is to meet the objections of the prospective customer. Once those are met there is a good chance the customer will buy. Questions about keys in the future is an objection to be met. A buying signal even. But we all get to run our business anyway we want.

it could be that the dvd just isn't working, for whatever reason. did you ask for a replacement?
