you need a cabinet.

like, you can damage the head if you run it without a cabinet. tube amps need an appropriate load on their output. Solid state heads don't care.
so you need a cabinet

Yeah you really do need a cabinet. It shouldn't even be turned on without one plugged in.

You need speakers to produce the sound. The cabinet has speakers, the head doesn't have.

well if he watched his fav bands play, he'd see that they have heads and cabs..... if it could happen, id just have a head on stage, hell, it would make load in/out easy.

But maybe he'd just think that the head's volume alone was too quiet, hence the need for a cab.

It is possible to have just a head on stage and no cabs.
If the head has a solid state power section and a DI... and you go from DI to the PA.

Why not?
