OP, I haven't seen anything unreasonable here from you.

^^^This^^^.3 days without communication, and the only update you got was after you had to email them first... I feel like that's worthy of disappointment. As an online seller, I would never go 3 days without saying anything to the buyer, especially after I've taken their money. I would let them know that that is generally unacceptable, at least if you want to be a good seller. Idk about leaving negative feedback for them tho
They said it would go out Thursday, it went out Friday. If you're going to gloss over posts that's fine, but then don't talk out of your rear end about what you know about a situation.<snip>
You don't have to worry about selling to me, only Supporting Members can sell on TalkBass. <snip>
You're allowed to send via PPs F&F, you just can't request that a buyer pay you that way.The OP never said WHY the seller promised one day and shipped another. Maybe there is a reasonable, legitimate reason. That was my point. I read the posts. There is still another side to this story.
Regarding TB membership - I lapsed my supporting membership years ago when TB decided to be PayPal police. Even PayPal allows members to pay FEE FREE, but TB still will chastise members for offering a discount or arranging a deal with that payment structure. So as long as TB management is of that mindset I will not financially support it. I did for many years but no more till that changes.

I can see how that inference would be made from my first post. I should have clarified. My first message would just be expressing the disappointment of the situation. Usually the seller will want to make it right- most don't want unhappy customers or negative feedback. I kinda just jumped to end game in my post. I don't recommend posting on TalkBass while watching a cranky child.Nor do I, but what you suggest the OP does certainly sounds like it.
There's a widespread agreement among sellers that buyer protection is being widely abused, but I for one am glad this TB policy is in place as selling without buyer protection opens the door to seller abuse and just shifts the potential for hard feelings without lessening it. (Not that discussing TB policy is a particularly good idea within a thread on something else, but I think it needs to be said.)One day would have been four business days after payment when Reverb says it should only be three. Two days after that message was five. May not be a big deal to you, but it might be to others. If the seller knew they weren't going to be able to ship until after Reverb's stated time-frame, they should have told the buyer upfront, because it may have changed the buyer's mind.
You realize that we don't actually care about the fee itself right? TB gets no kickback from PayPal (or any service). Paying with FF on PayPal basically eliminates buyer protection. So we're interested in keeping that from happening as much as we can. I can't think of many upstanding reasons a seller would want to eliminate any recourse a buyer has. And as @catcauphonic said, if you're the buyer you're free to pay FF if you want and volunteer to, you're just giving up any protections.
