Recommend an EBMM

For use with a SVT-CL / 810 rig. Would you recommend one over another or is it just preference? Rock setting, two guitars, high volume.

I've been wanting a Ray for a long time, but I've been reading a lot on Sterlings and love what I've read. I had a Ray and sold it years ago and I've regretted that move since.

5 pickup switch is WAY easy & has series mode as well as parallel mode unlike Stingray

I loved my Sterling. Lighter overall, thinner neck, more variety of tones. I found it better for slap than a 'Ray by far, but the Ray is a fine bass - particularly for finger-style funk.

Either or will be great. I prefer the looks of a Stingray but the electronics of a Sterling. The ceramic humbucker in the series mode is a thing of awesomeness.

One of my main basses is a Stingray 5 with the ceramic pickups.

Doesn't even matter if it is H, HS or HH, or a 4, 5 or 6 sting. Bongo will work.

The Bongo would be my choice. A buddy of mine uses a 6-string HH. That thing brings some SERIOUS thunder!

i use a stingray HH.. it cuts through a lot and is slightly more versatile because of the neck pickup.. i also like the 5 way switch that makes it easy to instantly change the tone.. the only drawback, i think, is the weight..
you could also check out the HS config basses made by EBMM..

This is hard, I currently have a Stingray that I love, but I like the Sterling more, I have been gassing for a Bongo for years but I also would love to have a reflex with a SSS configuration.

Big Al SSS. Why settle with two pickups when you can have three? The bass sounds killer in both active and passive mode. Looks aren't for everyone though.

Stingray H or Stingray classic H; just like a P, you don't need more than one pickup with an EBMM.

EBMM Sabre! I owned and sold a EBMM stingray, wish I didn't. I prefer the alnico stingray tone over the sterling, which is funny because I have the import version of the sterling bass (SB14). I love the SB14, but it's not my old stingray. Sabre seems to be the best of both worlds.

Stingray 4hh. You can get that classic sound, but by having the neck pickup you can nail a jazz sound with the outer coils.

Sterling 4H is my weapon of choice. Best bass I've ever owned.

I would say 100% that you should check out the difference between the 2eq like the classics and the 3eq if you go the Stingray route, some people don't notice a huge difference, but for me the 2eq is where it's at... I bought a 3eq in 2001 and loved everything about it except just a certain element of the sound, then in 2009 I bought an 85 with the 2eq and it all came together... I just love that 2eq, it just sits in the mix a little differently... just right for my purposes...

Sterling HH with 3 band EQ is my preference and I've owned many Music Man basses. The 5 way pickup selector provides you with your choice of multiple coil selections in Series.
