Recommend me a decent bass?

I've always found Yamaha gear to be really good up and down the whole model range. Ibanez is also good stuff for decent prices, in my experience. I also had a Carvin bass that was excellent, but ya gotta buy em sight unseen.

Ive been offered a squier p bass, the first four of the serial are 0003 so i think its a 2000.
he wants $50, think its worth it crystalmethman?

Whoa Whoa Whoa! hold up a second. first off, the name's crystalman. not crystalmethman. my user name is not a drug reference. I got my username from a mega man 5 character. secondly, the squire p bass might be worthy of a back-up bass. I would assume used squire p basses would cost a little more than $50. perhaps $75? anyways, if the bass is in good working condition and it sounds great, I would say that bass would be a steal.

ah, sorry I didnt say, but im not really into the stand up emulation anymore, my brother has a stand up at a friends house now.

I found an sr300dx for $110 on the used.GC website, like my old one, but it has 3 knobs instead of 4 and active pickups, how would you say it compares to the yamaha?

thanks for the help by the way

That sounds like a deal! The bass you mentioned has 'passive' pickups with a 9v driven preamp, and is considered an active bass.

:haha: Some guy texted me saying he would had an sr300dx, (what a coincidence!) and said he would sell it for like 90 or trades, so im trading him a bunch of old bmx parts that are really worth nothing to a seasoned rider. and im pretty sure he's going to trade
