Recommend me a Reverb pedal

I know there are two bypass settings you can toggle between with all of Source Audio's SB2 pedals, buffered bypass and relay-based true bypass, but I could've sworn that I tried switching to the former only to find that the pedal still didn't trail off when disengaged... Maybe I'm crazy and need to revisit my Dimension Reverb.

It is just a matter of taste. Both are fantastic pedals. I love the BigSky for the shimmer, chorale, and cloud reverb modes. For room, plate, and e-dome, the SA DR is my personal favorite. Both play incredibly well with expression pedals and allow for a lot of creativity. The BigSky offers more sounds, but the DR e-dome and room settings are unmatched. Again, simply a matter of taste.

I'm really wanting one that does do trails. Reason being that I find in a live setting, reverb can quickly muddy up a bass line so it's not a pedal I will leave on. I want to use it just to emphasize a short phrase then kick it back off. So I need to be able to get back to playing staccato notes over the trail of the reverb so the effect isn't abruptly cut off (which would sound horrible).

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned eventide yet. The Space and h9 reverbs are amazing. The black hole algo can't be copped by any other reverb.

I also strongly endorse the SA Dimension and the line6
M9. I have all 3 on my board, still want a big sky too. Because why not have 4 reverbs?

It's not in the manual, but I asked about it and I got a response from SA on how to do it in the club thread (short version: step on both switches and hold while plugging it in). It's doing trails now....and I'm never going back to the true bypass. I was going to sell mine over not trailing, but now it's a keeper.

Absolutely works this way. And the SA Dimension Reverb is the best I've tried out of several very good reverbs.

I'm right with you there, man. That is totally a game-changer. I am honestly so happy to have found out about this! I may go the Hub route now after all, rather than replace my Dimension Reverb with a BigSky.

I agree that the sonic quality of the Dim. Reverb is top-tier!
