Recommend me some 7-string bands

There are a few bands that have been mentioned that do play 7's but have moved on to 8's.

Meshuggah has been corrected already, but Stephen Carpenter of the Deftones plays an 8 now.

Dino Cazares of Devine Heresy plays an 8 but he played a 7 in Fear Factory (there's a song on digimortal that has him tuned down to F# on his 7 though).

Most metalcore bands these days play with a 7 string guitar as most of them seem to tune somewhere in the low A to B range.

dino from fear factory used to, but not too sure whether Christian Olde Wolbers now does.

How the hell did I forget Fear Factory? Christian Olde Wolbers still plays a 7 too.

Devin Townsend/Strapping Young Lad's newer stuff (The New Black and Ziltoid The Omniscient) are done on 7 strings. (although he tunes in 5ths)

Meshuggah use 8 strings now but played 7s before that.

They still use their alternate between 8's and 7's depending on what their want/need to play.

But, If you dig that kind of stuff check out these guys:

Tesseract - probably the most innovative sound to come out of metal in a long while. Listen to "Part7 Sax solo" and you'll see what i mean. Ever heard funk + ambient jazz + djent metal? Didn't think so. check 'em out

Synthetic Breed - heavy and cool robotic voices

Bulb - plain good stuff. He has, literally, hundreds of songs on his soundclick page mos of which are available for download. If you don't dig one thing, search a bit and i'm sure you'll find something you'd call a gem. Guy has a awesome sense of humor too, listen to "I Lost My Lunch in My Pants".
His band is Periphery. They use most of his song ideas so the music is good but personally i think they need a darker sounding or more haunting vocalist, the people they have in rotation sound too metalcore for my taste. That 's only my opinion though.

Another band I thought of: Link Removed. Basically Meshuggah crossed with Fear Factory. Not heard the new album but the last one was a beast, if you're into that kind of thing.

I have the Mnemic albums "Mechanical Spin Phenomena" and "The Audio Injected Soul". Some very interesting and awesome stereo panning on TAIS.

I don't have "Passenger" but plan on checking it out

other than that, twentyninedeadinabaghdadcafe, after the burial used them on forging a future self but now they use 8 strings. ion dissonance also used them but now they use 8 strings too.

They heavily drop tune Six Strings. Great "underground" (I hate using that term) band.

I go to their page, and I look at their top friends and I see my buddies band in the top row.

An End To Flesh. They just broke up, but they are a rather heavy yet melodic band that play 8 String guitars. They played 7 strings for years and Drop tuned 6's before that (my guitarist actually owns their guitarist Alex's old guitar).

Their drummer is very good, he can be found on sick drummer as well.

It was really nice when I went to college in Superior to get a call from them saying they would be playing in Duluth with After The Burial (pre 8 string for both bands). Seeing familiar faces up north was a trip.
