Excellent all - give us more of what you like.
BTW -it's 'Dejohnette'

Freddie Hubbard - Straight Life is pretty nice

I think some of Hiromi's stuff would qualify as "fusion", especially her SonicBloom group.

There's a group from Osaka called indigo jam unit who are pretty cool, they might not have enough instrumentation to qualify as fusion though! Just piano, double bass, drums and percussion.

Bitches Brew complete sessions 4-cd box set--find it used on ebay.
Bitches Brew...often cited as the 1st Fusion album, is definitely for specific tastes. When I first got into buying Fusion albums in the '70s...stuff like RTF, MO, Weather Report w/ Alphonso/Jaco, Tony Williams Lifetime, Dregs, etc...I heard the buzz about Miles & BB. Expecting Fusion to have a certain amount of Rock/Funk...Bitches Brew was totally different. It took quite awhile before that much sound sunk in.
Early Weather Report also has that vibe...

Willis and Caron are two of my favorite Fusion bass players. Favorite albums probably would be...

"Bent" by Gary Willis

'Live 5" by Alain Caron

No Sweat & Bent are great 'solo' discs by an Electric Bassist. All the Tribal Tech stuff with Willis is also top-notch.

How do you like Caron's Le Band & Slam The Clown albums?
