Recommendation for 10" (or 12") speaker that sounds like EV 15L?

Looking for a moderately priced replacement speaker with good midrange response, like my old EV15L. Doesn't have to handle more than about 100 watt at most. 8 ohms preferred. Any recommendations?

Picked up a new Eden EX112, the speaker has a Whizzer, but it doesn't sound very "midrangy" at all.

I have a new Markbass LM 250 head, but I am having trouble loving it with most of my motley crew of speaker cabs. But, really like it (so far) with a EV 15L in an old Ampeg combo turned into a cab.

I seem to like the mids. Previous head, a Peavey Deltabass, sounds really good to me as long as I boost the mid-range at about 1300 hertz. (But this head doesn't deliver enough bass...or watts...or low weight!) (With the LM250, I boost low and hi mid knobs to between 6 and 7.)

Looking for something that will cut through the mix in a relatively quiet rock band, not something that sounds good by itself. For band practice and restaurant gigs.

Bought a Eminence Legend BP 102 4ohm 10"--no like, this is the opposite of what I want. Seems like modern bass speakers rely on a separate tweeter?

I have an old 10" speaker from a dead 35 watt Fender Rumble practice amp... that thing sound pretty close to what I want, but not enough power handling.

Ultimately, may be heading for a 2x10 cab for my lightweight needs. The Eden EX112 is light enough, but the sound isn't for me. A better 1x12 could be worth the $500-600...if it sounded great. Considering Marbass NY12, 102p, and GK 12 Neo II.

The Eminence EPS-12C has specs very close to the EVM-12L. It's marketed as a steel guitar driver, and was recently discontinued, but there are still some on the shelves, google it. The EPS-15C is still being made, specs are almost identical to the EVM-15B.

This is about as close as you will get to the EVM-15L in a 10 or 12 inch driver. US Speaker still has these... in 4 ohms. http://www.usspeaker.com/Eps12c-1.htm

Thanks! I see that the Eminence CA1059 seems to be a higher-powered version of the CA10. Might be CA10 be similar to the EV 15L?

The CA10 seems to be cheaper and much lighter. My intended application is a 1 x 10 cab with no tweeter. In fact, I have a horrible little SWR LA10, which is dead, but seems to make a fair little cab. Though not with a Eminence BP102, which has very poor highs and probably mids.

I do have a Eminence CA15, which I actually kind of like with the Markbass LM 250, but I haven't actually tried it in battle yet. ;) Interesting how different the CA15 sounds from the EV 15L. Much tighter sounding.
