recommended headphones for hearing bass?

I've loved my Phil Jones Bass H850's, but the plastic on the headband broke at a point that I have no idea how I'd repair, and I'd like to try something different.
What I like about these headphones is that they're light, comfy (for my head), and they are my favorite headphones for hearing clearly what's going on in bass parts (it's definitely not "bass boosting", it's more low end clarity). They have been decent for general use as well. Surprisingly nice for video games as well. I haven't really put them through their paces as studio monitors.
I'd love something like that but maybe more durable. I prefer closed back so that I don't disturb my partner. Over ear preferred.
budget: up to $150 I guess? I could go higher if it's really good value, includes a good protective case, etc.

Does anyone have any recs? Or just tell me what you like.

awesome, I'm now moving indecisively between most of these.
I think I'm also willing to consider semi-closed (semi open?) as well.
Thanks for the suggestions, I still have no idea what I'll buy but it's a start.

For under $150 that is going to be tough.
Look to see if you can find some HiFiMan Sundara headphones. That's about the cheapest recommendation I can make. They are open back, but I can't think of a closed back in the price range with good bass.
The Beyerdynamic dt990 has good bass, but a crazy scoped EQ and highs that some people find taxing.

You can find Beyerdynamic DT770 phones in your price range. They sometimes go on sale at Sweetwater.

I first purchased Sennheiser HD280 Pros that lasted about 6 months before the cheap plastic panels at each side of the headband broke. They were used lightly so I wrapped the entire headband in blue painter's tape so they were at least usable. I don't recommend them.

I just picked up a set of used HD6xx for $150 and have been pretty impressed with them so far. I bought them to use with my helix, but they sound great otherwise, and my laptop or an old phone with headphone out has not trouble driving them either.

Tried twice to like the PJB, same as you the frame broke.
These are great. I practice with them all the time. These get a lot of love hear on TB. They work. They’re reliable. Replaceable cable. And not crazy expensive.

After poking around a bunch, I decided to order the DT770's. My better half says I should have waited to see if there's any better black friday deals, but this already seems fine to me. Hope I'll like it.

I have a number of different headphones for different jobs. For hearing bass detail, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is the standout.

Sony MDR-7506, Shure SRH-840 and AKG K245 are also very good options that are pretty easy on the budget.

The Grado have a distinct colored « Grado » sound. I like it but you will be better served with something like the DT770’s. I own a pair of old SR-60’s. They are great for vinyl listening but I have the DT770’s for home studio use.
