Every team wins 50 and loses 50. It's the other 62 that matters. After the first 50, the lowly Pirates are only one game under .500. I am happy.

With McLane leaving soon perhaps we can actually build a good team now. Living in Cardinals Land and being an Astros fan doesn't end well when baseball comes up during conversation

Thank you my man. I am a lot of things, but a fairweather fan is not one of them.
During their World Series run in '05 everybody in town suddenly loved baseball and were die hard Astros fans. Most of those "fans" are nowhere to be seen now. This season thus far they're at the lowest level of attendance in the 10 or so years they've been at Minute Maid Park. I don't attend as many games or watch as much on TV when they're bad, but they will always be my favorite baseball team regardless.

I've been a Sox lover and a Yankees hater as far back as I can remember. The first baseball game I can remember going to was at Fenway. I live in NY now, but it certainly hasn't changed my stance. I was just born that way I guess.

That's not the point, and I can say the same thing about the Haters.
The point is, the haters had the Red Sox DONE 2 weeks into the season. So what's the difference? Two weeks in and all they can talk about is how they are in last place....well now what??

I see the point of this thread. Obviously its way early in the season, but the pink hat red sox "fans" were acting like the sky was falling after their poor start. This feels more a 'suck it pink hats' thread more than anything else.
How do we Astros fans manage to turn every baseball thread into an Astros thread?

As a lifelong Red Sox fan (42 years-ish), I can say the the OP suffers from premature-AL East Elation. It is not even June, dood.
I absolutely hate the Yankees, but respect them and realize that you can't assess your team until July. Regarding the Sox, most people gonna hate, DOG. Haters hate because of success, not a bad thing necessarily.
