You're gloating about being in first place on Memorial Day? Seriously?
How is that worse than the haters gloating about them being in last place in week 2? Please explain.

"i swear i liked the red sox before 2004"
- 80% of their fan base

Everyone I know here was a fan LONG before then.
youre in MA, its fine for you to like your hometown team. its the clowns outside of MA who are all bandwagoners. i cant go to a nats game down here in DC without seeing hoards of idiots with pink bo sox hats brah!
lame.
Yeah, before then, they had a REAL HARD TIME packing Fenway....![]()
Be thankful. If there weren't fans of other teams at the Nats games, there wouldn't be anyone there at all.
the nats have a very bright future with harper, strasburg, zimmerman x2, and some of our other kids. DC will show up when the wins show up, just how this town is with every sport sans the redskins.
How are you going to keep those kids if your team isn't generating any revenue?

Pink hats are the worst. They were the ones freaking out when the sox started off so horribly. But the other thing to remember is that with five billion colleges in the Boston area they are going to have a more spread out fan base when they graduate and move away. And yes, wining helps. Right now, the Bruins are the cool team to like in New England.
I'm not a Red Sox fan, but as a Padre fan I am following closely and love seeing Adrian Gonzales killing it.
If it will make you feel better, I will concede that they are just as ridiculous as you.

HATE!
He is a Gold Glove first baseman and if he keeps up the pace he's on and the Red Sox win the AL East, he'll probably end up the AL MVP.Adrian is the bomb.I knew he could hit but I enjoy his work in the field too - he is very smooth around the bag.
However, Rizzo is raking at AAA and should be up with the big club soon. Casey Kelly was our top pitching prospect and he'll be able to help next year as a #2 or #3 starter. Even the 3rd guy in the deal - Reymond Fuentes is an athletic toolsy first round pick who may well make it as well.
If SD is lucky, the trade will work out as well for you as the the Beckett/Lowell trade worked for the Marlins - Hanley Ramirez and Anibel Sanchez. I hope so, it would only be fair.
I like how my Sox have weathered a brutal start. The AL East will be tough and even though the Yankees are old and the Rays are young, both are going to be there in September. And Toronto and Baltimore are much improved.
Beebassdude-
I hope that baseball catches on in DC, but the only way to not have Red Sox Nation take over is to buy the tix yourself - I suspect that most of those folks are originally from here or have travelled there for the game. Just ask your friends who watch games at Fenway South, err, I mean Oriole Park at Camdem Yard.
Given that there are people working in DC that came from all over the country, it probably has a higher % of fans pulling for the visitors than most other parks. I would look at the bright side and see it as revenue that will allow you to keep up with the Phillies and Mets payrolls.
awwww yea.. Good for Adrian... lousy for my Pads. But since this is about the Red Sox...
What's the best thing to come out of Boston????
[DEL]Nothing.[/DEL]WickedPissah.
D'aww thanks man!
Glad you fixed it! errr.... So let me get this straight... Red Sox just lost 3 in a row? Hmmm.. yeah hating is overrated.. At least my Pads won 4 in a row.... Look out, .500 baseball here we come!!
yeah, its the padres. i'll settle for an 81-81 season.
Good to see some life from Denorfia and Ludwick though....
