REDDI Owners Club

I'm sure the REDDI is a great box, but could you REDDI users record clips of your basses though the REDDI and though generic DI, post them here, so we mortals can hear them and compare?

EDIT:

Another question. Is The REEDI really a DI, or ist a Preamp due to the fact it has a gain stage on the circuit?

It's a DI that can sometimes act as a preamp under certain circumstances, but isn't really designed to be a preamp.

As for clips...comparisons with a Countryman Type 85:

Welcome to the club! and yeah... I'm forever grateful to the guys on the REDDI MegaThread who pushed me over the edge in my decision to get one too. Best piece of equipment for bass that I've ever owned. :cool:

I am just a weekend bar gigger with a recording here and there. I bought it in anticipation of a full CD I will be recording with another project I am in and thought I wanted to put my best foot forward sound wise. Until then I have been using it all over and just absolutely love it to pieces. People always say it sounds just like a full bass rig in the PA system. Anyway, I have never joined a club before on TB but this little red box deserves it I guess! I will take a number too.

Welcome to the club! And yeah... that's what the sound guy at the local Hard Rock Cafe here in Toronto said to me the last time we played there. Something like, "I was thinking you had a big Ampeg tube amp up there when I heard your bass". It's awesome. :)

I'm going to be playing at Hard Rock Cafe again on Sunday night. I'll try to get the FOH guy there to record something for me (I may have to throw him $20 to do it) so that people can hear and critique my bass tone. I'll post it up here once I have it.

I'd love to hear what other users have to say, and any advice they can give on improvements, etc. We're all here for the same purpose, after all, yeah? GREAT REDDI TONE.

Just a bit of proof that I belong here ;-)

'73 p -> linden -> Reddi -> neve preamp -> esoteric audio research compressor

Best sounding recording chaun I've tried :-)
