Fritz explained it in the REDDI megathread that he's getting crazy distortion out of it. Already answered him but I'll repeat here...either he's overloading whatever he's plugging into, a tube went ka-flooey, or it's broken, as the REDDI is very clean.

My original band is recording a new EP next month, and I'd really like to get my hands on a REDDI to track the bass. I've tracked with them in the past many times, but I really don't have a need for one of my own. If there is a REDDI owner in the Philly area who would lend/rent me their DI for a weekend, PM me. I can leave cash or paypal deposit, or whatever makes you feel secure in letting it go. Sorry for the hijack, but I feel like this is a much more ethical path to take than buying one from GC or MF and returning it for no good reason. I envy all you REDDI owners.

EDIT - Found a used one at a "flippable" price. Hope it works when it gets here, and I can bring myself to let it go after the sessions.

I just saw this thread. I'm in. I don't care if you give me the first number, the last number or no number.

My story is this: After meeting Peter Montessi through Ted Perlman in early 2003 I had a chance to use the REDDI and record with it at Tony Shepperd's studio on a Whitney Houston record. I've been using my REDDI in the studio and on the road for over ten years and even when I'm dead, there are failsafes to ensure that no one can't pry it from my cold, dead, angry fingers.
