Redeemer DDC 5 for Rodney

Awesome work Scotty!

I do have a few questions regarding finishing: Have you tried different types of finishing such as nitrocellulose and polyurethane? Is one better than another to apply as far as how many coats, or do you have a defined technique for finishing? Just curious. I have a friend who's doing finishing on a guitar body and he's having nitrocellulose applied.

Looking forward to more great looking builds such as this one!

Sealed and pore filled! I hope to get this one sprayed this weekend. Maybe sooner depending on the weather.

Whoa! Look at that tight flame.

Can you tell me what pore filler and sealer you used?

I hope to be finishing my first build in the coming months. -RAHAZ

I used Z-poxy for both sealing and pore filling. A light thin coat for sealing and a heavier silica thickened coat for the filling. Since the final coating I'm using goes on crystal clear I prefer the Z-poxy because it has a slight amber tint to it that makes the wood and figure have a bit more color and pop, similar to shellac. The only draw back is that when you sand it back you have to be careful not to sand though it or lighter spots will show.

Thanks to all for the compliments!:D

The first stage of finish coats were sprayed this morning. Tonight after the finish has set up I will level the it and the final coats will go on tomorrow. As always the lighting for the photos is terrible.

wow Scott... I think this is my favorite of your builds so far... She looks GREAT!

Thanks man, you know there really is something about this body style, it gets many more compliments than my others. I'm trying to take it a step further by designing an optional pickup guard for it. It's been a tough thing to do so far.

Here she is put together and strung up with a temporary nut. It feels really nice on a strap 0 neck dive and it's fairly light, I still have to weigh it. It won't be much longer Rodney!!:hyper:
