Redoing grills on ampeg blueline, 810 and nv610

I recently picked up a nice 1970 ampeg blueline and matching 810 from TBer asands.
They were in great shape for their age. I recapped the head with a kit from fliptops.net. (which lowered the noise considerably)
I decided to make some new grills and recloth them with the original style cloth. I did the nv610 too. I was never fond of the original mesh grill.
Anyway i think it turned out really good so heres some before and after pics.

Looks great. Might have left the Ampeg logo off the 610 out of respect but it's your cab, not mine.

That amp is in nice shape, did you try just cleaning the grille cloth or would it have fallen apart? Usually when you see something that old the cloth is all ripped up, same with the tolex. Looks good though. I had one about that age years ago, had the rotron fan that needed to be oiled, the hardwired 4 prong speaker cable, the shock absorbing feet, probably something else I'm forgetting too. I'd like to pick up a 6146 head.

Thanks JimmyM. I was debating whether to put the ampeg badge on the nv610. I emailed bergantino to get one of their badges a while ago and never heard back from them. Its unique if nothing else.

Bobyoung53, I did try to clean it some. When i got it from asands he said it had already been cleaned extensively. I guess it was around a lot of smoke or something. Anyway, I still have the originals for continuity if needed eventually.

Based on your complete statement, I know this is a long shot, but I'd be interested in the grill cloth from the head. Trying to restore my 76 to its former worn and weathered state, to match the it's cab.

Those flat back cabs sound great. Yours even has the original dolly which is rare to find.

Here's a new picture. For some reason it wasn't letting me post them in the message last night. The flatback sounds fantastic. The nv610 sounds really good with the head too, a little more aggressive than the 810. They both blow the 810e's away IMO.

As the owner of a 73 flatback my own self, they are definitely better than the Classic 810e's, but I also have a Heritage 810e, and I am very hard pressed to tell the difference.

Hmm. Thats good to know. Do the Heritage 810e's handle more wattage like the new classics?
