Around here a lot of bars tried to be non smoking establishments. They all failed...
...When the city ban came in to affect they even gave him a waver. When the state passed a ban they would not honer his waver and he was out the money...
But if they're all on a level playing field having to abide by non-smoking laws, does that mean all the other bars are not doing well either?

As you can see by the discussion here, I think you'll find many that agree with your stance and many that don't. I think the laws of your local area will dictate whether that will be problematic or not. Before smoking laws were introduced, I do not know of a bar that didn't allow it, which I imagine would be the same where you're at.
