Relayer Bass Makes Debut

The statement I made to you in conversation was repeated in this post without my permission. Plus you have an argumentative tone to me. I request that you immediately delete my post. It was out of context and a conversation meant for you. I don't appreciate it. Thank you.

Amazon is a website, but it is a sales platform. Its not the same, at least in my mind. You can't go to Amazon and get every single piece of information. And its different then a regular website for a company or item. And I'm not saying not to have one, just that people spend more time on social networks like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr then they do just surfing the web. In my sales time with Floyd Rose, I got a ton more leads from people who read the tweets or the Facebook posts then who went to the website. That's all my point is Alaska.

Is that why you can only shop at Amazon through a website? Or Musician's Friend? Or Geico? Or Every Major Retailer in the Industry?

I am not sure what you are referring to. You posted that you saw the price and said all there was was "Farcebook." So I acknowledged your point that a website is important, and said that your point was taken and I'll make sure the website upgrade gets done as quickly as possible. Not sure how that was derogatory. Its not like I took a private conversation and posted it here. But, if you are offended, I apologize, as that is not my intention in my reply.

It's advertising, not a doctoral thesis. :rollno:
Yep, and unfortunately it's that very attitude that's dragging down the general level of literacy in public communications. We're not looking for writing at a Ph.D level, just written English that's not blatantly wrong. Let's see if the ad copy quietly changes or not.

I think I pointed out pretty clearly that the makers of this bass aren't doing anything that other advertisers don't do. If you come to a forum like this and run and ad like that, you have to be ready for some criticism. The maker seems to be posting here and seems to be taking it all pretty well. In the end, it doesn't matter what we say. Production cost and distribution matter.

Very good @tradernick!
I'll have to disagree to "agree to disagree", though, as I'd rather concede.
While I was aware of the etymology, I was still trying to wrap my head around how to differentiate the innovations — I very much prefer your "past" and "recent" innovations, correct and eloquent all at the same time. Thanks.
Wow, seeing a post like this on a forum like this is like seeing a unicorn.

It's about context. I don't read an editorial the same way I read a news story and it's silly to expect an ad to have the same accuracy as a supposedly independent review.

Yes, that relativist attitude is becoming more and more common. By the same logic, kids using 'text speak' to communicate ("wot r u doing 2nite?' 'OK, C U 2mrw) is okay because it's all about context right? It's not having any sort of negative impact on kids' ability to communicate effectively in written English, is it?

My last post here. I'll give you the last word because I can tell you want it so badly. : )

QUIT QUOTING ME!

QUIT QUOTING ME!

He has every right to quote you, and isn't harassing you by doing so. He only quoted and responded to posts you made in this thread- nothing private. This is a discussion forum- you don't get to make statements and then expect people to not have the right to respond to them.

@TRichardsbass

Holler at us when you'd like this thread refined a bit and all the stuff OT to the bass being discussed being redacted.

Commenting on sales pricing is against the classifieds rules in TB. It isn't here in this specific forum last I checked. Let's just say that it is considered to be in bad form in general and please refrain from that as the discussion at hand is about the bass, and not whether a poster perceives it as a poor or good value. The builders and sellers are capable of pricing their time, materials and sales costs and have every right to ask what they need for it. The market will quickly react on its own to that.

I'm a sales guy, this is a conversation I don't appreciate.
"How much is frozen Cod today?"
"4.35 a pound"
"Wow. That's way high!"
"Are you buying Cod today?"
"No, but..."
"When you're not buying, I'm the cheapest guy around. 2.00 bucks! But if you are, I'm at 4.35 and let's talk."

Moral: If you don't have an order, don't beat the guy up on the price. You're just wasting time.

I'm interested in the bass, but may be the only person left on the planet who doesn't use Facebook. Send me some information if you find the time.

Facebook has been declining in new users for quite a while now. Google "the decline of Facebook" and you'll find a lot of articles about how they're trying to stay relevant by buying up new companies. I'm just not a Facebook user. The up and coming generation is finding alternate social media to communicate, and dropping Facebook when they get the "kiss of death" of their parents finding and "liking" them. I still maintain that when you sell a product a website is an easy format to present the information, create custom order pages, have FAQ pages, have backdoor vendor pages specifically for support companies. Yes, the website is old, but it's still like a trusty diesel truck.
And actually, there are two people on the planet who don't use Facebook. You and me. :)

Best of luck to the company, there's always room for an excellent product, regardless of price.
