i will put down another vote for the Korg pitch black. i havent had it very long, only about a month but i find it is very accurate and responsive. it also has 4 different tuning 'effects' you can select strobe and a few other variations to fit what you like. its also very bright and easy to read.

Reliable tuner that doesn't "jump" or malfunction?

I'm not even sure if your problem really is with the tuner.
I recently traded a jazz for a warwick and the first thing I noticed with the warwick was that the needle always stays in place every time. I have a cheapo $30 led tuner (I tend to lose them). The jazz never did that. I had a stingray that never did it. I have a skyline that does it but mostly on the E.
It depends on the bass I think.

I have 2 Korg Pitchblack tuners and 1 Boss TU-2. I would hands down pick the Korg Pitchblack. It is much more staple in my opinion.

guess I need to get the strobostomp, and put them side by side with the st200, and then try to tune up my fiver.....
meh, who needs to be in tune any way? just jump around alot!

yeah, the pitch blacks are pretty darn close to "not jumping around." i have a furman rack tuner, which jumps around more, but i feel like its also more accurate. i guess its a matter of patience, but the pitch black is really an excellent tuner, but its not 100% perfect; i doubt any are (pretty sure thats a lame statement, but im going to go for it).

So are their any advantages from one model of Sonic over the other? I can't effectively use my feet so I don't need a "stomp" tuner. I could use either the same, What's your opinion?

I wound up buying the Pitchblack II,
It is a beautiful unit. I can honestly say that the technology has improved. I find that the "needle" rarely ever "bounces" or gets stuck,like most digital tuners seem to.It's a relief, It's always the big gi,between songs,while filming a video..that the tuner cheeses out,it made me look like an idiot.good riddance!
..annnnd,
it has a built in A/B box! and I double on acoustic guitar,my entire rig was 4 cables,a tuner and an A/B box,no amp or cabinet..
now my rig gets even smaller..3 cables and a tuner. I love it.
The display is the clearest I've seen,and it powers 3 other effects if u use an AC cord!

I own both and they work identical. The only difference is one is heavy duty metal with a foot stomper/mute function and no mic, designed to be used in-line. The other is a slightly larger plastic unit (it comes with a nice protective case) with a tilt back stand designed to be used with a tuner out on an amp and sit on top of your cab, or with the built in mic for acoustic instruments. The 'inner workings' are identical (tracking, accuracy, etc.).
+1. If I need to get a new tuner this is what I'll be getting, especially since they dropped their price to $130.
Right now I'm using a Planet Waves chromatic pedal tuner and I've had absolutely no problems with it. I know people have said there's a hum issue, but I've yet to notice it when the pedal is bypassed. But I have one of the 2nd gen ones when they were still using almost all metal parts.
