I get that one alot. I dont get how guitarists cant tell that basses sound different. I remember a couple months back when I just bought my p bass. And the guitarist comes up to me saying that it sounded just like my old bass the jazz bass.
Oh here is this one from my guitarst but this is when I quit, "We dont need a bass player, we tune low enough we dont need a bass player."
I swear to god I would have punched this kid in the scrotum.
I need a good, sarcastic, witty reply to a goober who constantly says "bass is so easy"./QUOTE]
Why Yes, yes it is!.... Yet, I'm getting paid, have my choice of gigs and will have women buy me drinks at my gigs .... it must suck to work so hard at learning guitar only to have thousands of players better than you.
what the difference between a bassist and a taxi?
Taxi usually only carries 2-3 people![]()

Okay, what was that one remark said by a non bassist that just fried your brain and really got you angry? Ive been told many times that bass is so much easier than the guitar. I hate it! You know, us bassists get no recegnition around here. Bass = superior!
When people compare guitar and bass, or question my choice of instrument, I say something along these lines:
"When I pick up a guitar, I simply don't like the way it feels or sounds. However, bass feels good in my hands and in my head. I have respect for great guitar playing, but I have no desire whatsoever to play guitar."
No need to get pissed, or feel inferior, or get defensive.
Fieldy's different, though. He's a frustrated drummer.![]()
