Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the bass pictured is an EB-3. I had an EB-0 and it had one humbucking pup. The EB-3's came with 2 humbuckers. Anyway, I saw Alice Cooper at an outdoor festival in the early '70's. I remember a few of the bands that played including Brownsville Station, Canned Heat, and Chuck Berry. Alice Cooper were the headliners and I remember how their bass player blew me away. During their set he would squat down while he was playing and wind his way through the rest of the band, never missing a beat. What a great bassist!

FWIW - Personally, I think you're right 936. I had an EB3 but it had the open (or "H") headstock and banjo-style tuners.

I just thought that Guitar Hangar should know because they have DD's Gibson. That P pup by the bridge is obviously a replacement on an EB3 or Hangar is right and it's a very heavily modded EBO with the body routed for that pup. But, I think Hangar missed the boat on this one.

No, I only considered it ram. At the risk of sounding "anal" (but what the hell? For some of us, it's fun), I still think your "EB3" thinking is on target.
The control/jack placement is so perfectly placed between the 4 control spacing, just like an EB3 and it has the chickenhead selector knob for 3 different kinds of "whomp." The chickenhead would be so unlikely as a mod, IMO.

But what the hell? You know EB's - No matter what the model, all Gibsons go "boom, boom, boom!!!" until the Ripper/Grabber/Triumph came out.

That is NOT a P-bass, right?
...it's a Jazz.
And I noticed there was a shortage of Michael Bruce photos?!

Also, another link off that site sez DD's health is not so good.
Then again, the BDS group is touring.
Anyone know for sure?

The same link also talks about guitarist Mick Mashbir(the "un-official" member). He did a lot while subbing for Glenn Buxton.

I thought Uriah Heep was pretty big.
Believe it or not...Uriah Heep once played here in Norfolk with Earth, Wind, & Fire as their opening act. Weird.

JimK - Yeah, it is a Jazz Bass. It wasn't obvious to me at first because I can't see the pickups.

About DD's health, I've heard that he's recovered from a bout with Crone's disease a few years ago and is OK.

And it does seem as the photographer for the 72 pics had a bit of a Glen Buxton fixation. Cool, though, because those are the best GB pictures I've ever seen. Geez, girls must have wanted to kill him for that hair.

About Mick Mashbir; everybody says that he subbed for Glen, but just take a listen to the live disc from the Rhino reissue of B$B. I hear three distinct guitars, and they all kick ass!
