The upright I am playing is on loan to me so until I can afford my own, I wanted to see if there is an affordable pickup that can easily be put on and removed. I can’t modify the bass in any way. Suggestions?

I use their Single Shot bridge wing p/up when I have to electrify.
I'd recommend some sort of impedance buffer, (I like the Radial Stagebug SB4), if you use an amp designed for slab.
You’re asking the wrong question.
Learn to play the bass first. Then amplify it.
