Have some elixirs on a bass and the nanoweb coating is shredding. Any solvent or another product or procedure which can remove these webs from the strings?

Remove Webs from Elixirs!

Just because the coating is coming off doesn't mean the strings are no good. Play them until they start going dead. Use your ears,not your eyes.
Agreed -- also happens on the DR coated strings, but doesn't affect sound or structural integrity.
