I had a nice original Reeves Hiwatt 200 in the 70's..and 80's too. I loved that thing to pieces..

Just bumping our thread...
New River Bound is now finished tracking our first recording together... I used my Custom fretless RB-5 for all but three cuts, which received the full upright treatment. The engineer at Flat Five Studios commented several times how well the Renaissance bass fit what we were playing. I'd like to take a little credit for at least *some* of that, as I do very much control the attack and overall dynamics with my right hand, a task the Rens are well-suited to. In the studio, I've been plugged into an older John Demeter tube-pre, and nothing else... just dry. We'll make it a little more warm and wet for final mix.
I notice a steadier stream of RT's new basses and guitars for sale, mostly from retailers on Reverb. In addition to a new batch of Model Ones, it's nice to see the Electroline series making a reappearance.
This Summer's gig schedule is looking pretty good... wondering what the rest of you fellas are up to?

I was invited to come visit by EdwardofHuncote when he saw my post on the main site
The gist of my other post is that I came across an Epiphone Zenith Bass and really liked the look of it.
Upon self -examination, I realized that what I liked was the f-holes. So I decided to make the cheaper choice rather than buying a new bass - I ordered a set of decal f-holes for my Turner Ren bass.
I'm not sure I like enough to keep them - but it keeps the GAS at bay! and at $7 was a lot cheaper than a new bass!

Man, I didn't even notice those ultra-cool fretless sidelines! That's awesome! 
This is a pretty quiet thread, as you'd imagine... since not many of us play these things. My best guess is maybe a couple dozen on TalkBass.
Drop in anytime... I try to keep an eye out for anything Renaissance/Turner-related, and occasionally RT will pop in here for a Q&A.

Dang how the time flies when you're busy! Happy to say, I'm still out gigging all mine, though in quite different scenarios.
Just ran across this older Turner Electroline piezo model on th' 'bay... it looks a lot like the one on Reverb.

Just to join in on the end of summer ren fest:
At the beginning of summer I tried a set of LaBella white tapes..and really like them..flexible enough, and once broken in, have a nice zing, while adding the MAWAH. THanks for the recommendation. Also, though I have only been experimenting with it at home for a few days, there was a tremendous deal on a DBX Go Rack, a little 2 channel plus aux pre/di with eq, anti feedback, compression, the dbx sub octave generator, a pasta maker..real stereo Plus 4DB lo imp outs..all in a very small box, it would easily fit in your case..for $29 delivered. I got it from Pro Audio Star in NY..This is (almost) the perfect thing for my deuce, as you can set individual input levels, etc. Thought it would be very cool for anybody with dual mono output Turners. and perfect for travel..just take your Ren and this box and go straight to the SS.

And, i started playing solo gigs with my Ren and Mbira..free music style. If you need a challenge and want to see where you are at in a multitude of things, I really recommend trying this.

It really is. Here's us last month at the 81st Annual Old Fiddler's Convention in Galax, Virginia.
Since they don't allow any bass guitars in the competition, I'm playing my Dad's old blond Kay here, but 98.5% of the time, I'm playing one or the other of my Rens on this same music. It's funny how we can go from a stomp-dance band to a semi-formal Appalachian string quartet, and RT's basses still get it done.

String update - I recently picked up a used Renaissance 4 string. Loved the bass but didnt like the strings (Acousticcores). I contacted the company and Rick T suggested TI jazz flats. Great combination, I am much happier and the sound and feel are just right for me. Still very sensitive feel and touch, but not as "zingly" as the stock strings. The TIs are a bit heavier but still very light gauge as steel strings go....

RT steered you right on TI Jazz Flats as an alternative. I happen to like the AcoustiCores on my Renaissance basses better, but they are a bit of a switch getting used to. I love the Jazz Flats on the Electrolines though.

Will post pics soon - appreciate the comments, was glad to have an option. I couldn't get used to the feel of the AcoustiCores but love the flats.
