Replace and solder

I have a basic question about replacing pickups. Do i have to solder the wire to the pots when relacing or can i just leave the wire from the existing pickup to the pot and connect the wires to each other to avoid soldering.

Just need your opinions.

Either way, you really should solder. Twisted together wires have a way of working their way loose over time, and even though it seems like a good connection twisting never really is.

you can solder the wires together if you want, its perfectly fine, just lookup "western union splice" on google.. its a super neat way of doing it that is no wider than the original wire.

That's pretty cool. Also, be sure to shrink wrap, or otherwise insulate, the wires to keep them from shorting.

Soldering is more fun, and it makes a neater, arguably better connection. Plus, it's more fun.
