after they settle in, let us know how they sound compared to the old sound. would be interesting to note.

Dude. What exactly do you think you're doing? You know I've got a 310. You realize now I'm going to have to email Jim? There are ramifications!

:D Seriously, let us know what ya think...

Tagging on for a review............still digging my "old" HT310.;)
... well , after recieving some PM's about this speaker change out ,
i thought i'd better revive this thread ...:ninja:

my recap of events leading up to the change ...
i had just replaced my Stewart 2.1 power amp with this Crest CC2800

and thought about the higher power ratings and how they might
affect my beloved HT310 ...
so , after talking to Mr.Bergantino , i decided to do it ...
i've been more than happy with the change...

so far i've noticed deeper lows , tighter mids and crisper highs ...
clean and punchy also describe the tone .

The original was really good, but a tad bit weak in the low bass.

+1 I totally agree. The HT310, while it went deep, was not as full in the lows as, say, the HT212. Before I discovered the IP series cabs, my 'ultimate big rig' was the HT310/HT212 powered by a CA9. Those two just sound great together. I can see where this would be a definite improvement for the HT310.

I have resisted doing this so far, because I mostly just use my two HT310's as mid/high boxes in my PA (and they are great in this role!). But dangnabit, I just may have to give Jim a call as well!

What are new about the speakers? Are these the ones he puts in the 322 and IP 310? What gives! Oh no!! Mr Bergantino has given me something else to want!!!

I believe that these are the 250 drivers that were used in later HT210's (the ones with the 500w power rating), versus the 200w drivers originally used in the HT210 and used in the HT310.

First of all BIG thanks to David for generously sharing his speaker swap info and making it look so easy. Also for the feedback on how it sounds.

AND, as much as I do want to upgrade my HT310 I will have to delay for the moment because I FOUND AN NV610!!!!!!!!! Been waiting forever to grab one and here came one up for sale near me so there goes my speaker money for now.

Joshua, Please do let us know how your swap goes and how it sounds.

Thanks
