Replacing my aging Eden WT-300, with?

What kind of speakers do you have your WT300 hooked up to? I've never hooked mine up to any other cabs than my Eden 410.

I'm just running one 4 ohm Eden 210XLT since I don't play any gigs at large venues. In fact I haven't gigged in some time, but when I did I was playing in a jazz quartet with my Eden rig and my fretless J bass. It was plenty loud and punchy for that. Don't have any experience with larger speakers with that head. If I ever needed more power, I think I'd just get a power amp and patch it into the Eden. But then I'd have to look into more speaker to handle the power.

Gerryjazzman is right,you can run the R1000 with your headphone out.I had an R1000 too and I used a Sans Amp RBI preamp into the effcts return on the R1000 and it worked great.Like he said it bypasses lots of the preamp on the R1000 but you still have the graphic eq to tweek if you want and the power section works in bridged or regular dual amp mode,and yes it would be free.I'd try that for sure,I had good luck with mine.

I use a WT-400 w/ a D210XST and a D212XLT....it's pretty darn loud! But on paper it shouldn't be that much louder than your 300. Is your cab an old Eden? If not, maybe it isn't an efficient enough cab.
Otherwise, the most economical way to power is a power amp. If you like Eden's sound, keep it and get a QSC RMX850 Power Amplifier (bridged mono 8/4ohm= 600/830w) for just over $300.

On paper it should. In your case, the papers the specs for the cabs are written on

I wouldn't expect an older "T" cab to be anywhere near as loud as an "XxT" cab.

Since you've got the R1000, you should try it out, either alone, or with the Eden head as the pre. The 410T is an 8 ohm cab, and I think rated for around 500 watts. It likely will sound a lot better with the output of the R1000 bridged into it, which would give you mucho headroom compared to what you've been used to. Just don't overdo it!
