Request for info re Greco violin basses

Hi all
Seems like Greco violin basses for sale in Japan (via ebay) look like good value for money given their reputation. I've read old threads on here about them.
If possible, I like some up-to-date info:
1. Were particular models/years better than others?
2. Anything I should be wary of?
