I can't stand those idiotic "have you been injured" adverts...just people looking to make a quick buck off of everything.

Morf, the pictures you posted do not tell a complete representation of what the lifeguards see. Find some with waves and a crowd of people in it.
And as far as I'm concerned, they're doing their job because folks don't die more often.
Howver, having customers like Miss Flores increases their chances of missing something.
In this country, lawsuits don't prove jack. Especially in California.
The lifeguards perhaps could have been more vigilant, I suspect that they may not have been as on the ball as they could have been but ultimately it's absolutely a parent's responsibility to keep an eye on their kids.

I still believe their should be a competency test for all people planning on having a child for the first time, if the fail they should have to go through a massive course where they learn all that is needed to raise a child in a caring, safe and stimulating environment.
People say that it is an infringement of a persons basic human right to have children - I say what about the right of the child to have a parent who is able to provide the correct care an attention....and not to leave them to fend for themselves in a wave pool.

I don't think she has the intelligence or the forsight to invest in her child's future. Anyone who would leave a kid unattended in a swimming pool obviously isn't putting her children first.
shoot, my mom still checks up on me.
I saw this thread, and noticed a civility and lack of attempted trolling, and then realized this thread was almost 3 years old.
Just about every time you read about something like this, you can bet a paycheck that it involves someone who lives in public housing or on welfare.
BTW what do you mean by California style?
Did anyone point this out before? He was a 4 foot tall 4 year old?
Maybe he was older than the government needs to know.
