Restoring stock pickups.

Hi guys, I'm getting pretty sick of looking down at my pickups of my SquierII and seeing rust. Anybody know about restoring these things? I was thinking I could just replace with DiMarzio's or Quarter pounders, but I really like the tone of these bad larry's. Maybe replace the pole pieces?

nope, there's no "replacing" those plated steel poles.

if you like the sound of these (sorry) cheap pickups, you'll likely love the sound of some better-quality replacements.

You could yes, change them out...but you could also strip the rust off them. A bit of scotchbrite pad would take care of things. Don't use steel wool as it will only leave steel bits stuck to them. If you can remove the covers first, do if they're sealed, then don't. Afterwards, a quick thing coat of clear nail polish will make this not happen again.
