Return of Sunn?

I still find it kind of strange that prior to the amps and cabinets coming out why didn't they do demo videos of the amps & cabinets? You'd think that would be a smart promotional idea to get get people to hear what the amps & cabinets sound like.
Marketing is a craft. Marketers are overpaid employees taking stab guesses. Worst of all, these employees get a budget to consume with no accountability but most do know they fail so employee movement is high.
Studdied Marketing and sales management at college. Their focus excludes customer input and is more often sourced from retailers who "think they know" what their customers want.

The Sunn fans most likely are looking for the sound and tone of the old Sunn gear, but in a package that matches today's modern gear.
A Sunn Beta in a 12" x 2" x 8" cab that has 500 watts of power would be ok, easy to cart around.
Class D amps are becoming very small and light for the power they put out so that would determine the size for a new head, the preamp PCB sits vertically right behind the pots.

I can fit a Sunn Beta preamp in a 1590BB stompbox no problems, that's both channels with stomp switches for A/B, A+B, and bypass. I can not do it with a reverb pan for the lead version, but there are plenty of pedals for that.

They (we) are not. But Sunn will make that sort of thing eventually to hopefully sell to people who aren't Sunn fans (yet).
I like the idea of being able to get a replica of the original Sunn Beta, but I also think a Sunn Beta that is a 1/3 the size of the original AND pumps put 500 watts would be more suitable for most of today's buyers.
You would buy the original size for the man-shed but you would gig with the smaller one.

Maybe it could be a package deal from this new sunn company. Get the mini one for half price when you buy the full size one. :roflmao:

I probably shouldn't hold my breath for a reissue of the 215BH cab, hehe :woot:;)

I really liked the one I had, that was nearly 30 years ago though :woot::)

Mine was like this one...

Short story long, I missed the sunn cab enough to go looking, all I could find was this Randall cab. The sunn cab was much much better..... At least in my memory, hehe :woot::)

The way it's looking, I think its going to be difficult to get ANYTHING when you buy something from "the new Sunn".
I have been thinking that for quite some time now.
I never had a Sunn cab which meant the 2000S was hanging over the sides of 215 cabs I had.
The only sunn amp I've owned was a second version Concert Bass head. I used it with a '60s sealed Traynor YT-15 cab; the amp overhung the cab (the amp was 24" wide, the YT-15 was 21" wind). Never thought back in the mid/late '70s that it would be an issue until TB. :roflmao:

An old friend back in the early '70s had a 2000S with matching JBL cab. That was the first real bass amp I'd ever played through. :bassist: (I'm glad Frank did all the schlepping; I just had to plug in :D)
