I wasn't sure where to put this - it's bass related, so "Miscellaneous" doesn't really fit. Neither does "Recordings", "Band Management" or "Live Sound". So, I'm hoping it will generate some "gig stories".

I've just had a booking come in for the bass chair on this show. The charts look like great fun! Lots of old rock 'n' roll and Sixties stuff.

Any of you guys done this show before and care to comment?

I won't be doing any instrument swapping, I hope. I may JUST get away with stuff on bass, but I'd stand no chance at all on anything else. Well, maybe keys. IF sufficient practice time was available before the show (but there never is).

I saw it in London 20 years ago. Great show. The kid was said to have taken up studying guitar specially for the part. I'm dubious, but I was in the cheap seats way up the back so couldn't tell if he was the world's greatest guitar mime or not. Maybe you can shed some light on that?

When I saw the show touring show in the UK some years ago, there wasn't a band, the cast played all the instruments and swapped around (the Bass had tape marks on the back of the neck to show where the notes were for some of the lesser talented players:-)).

In the show I saw, kid who played the guitar shred definitely played it. I was close enough to the stage and they put a video camera on him and showed it on the big screen behind the stage...

Altogether now:

REVERSE POLARITY!!!
