In old Soviet Union, you don't sell bass. Bass sells you.(The communist web stores aren’t great either.)

Murphy's is a small place in Bountiful, but limited stock. Ray, the luthier is the best around though.
KSL Classifieds instead of Craig's list, but people are CHEAP here.
I'm not a big fan of Reverb, but at least I get replies to my questions. On Facebook Marketplace or Ebay, not so much. I've even offered to buy a bass on both, and crickets, and the ad stays up.....
Reverb, as bad as it is, is as good as it gets...like most things, lol. There are some annoying things about it such as constantly re-displaying items you have already seen, but Amazon does that too. There must be some marketing reason for it...
Ok whatever man, at this moment and time there isn't nothing better or much better either way you slice it. I am 100% certain that two things would not have happened for me if they didn't exist. 1 - I would not have sold the gear I wanted to sell, and 2 - I would not have gotten the deals I got on the gear I wanted after selling that gear. Another bonus is they making shipping cheaper than if I did it on my own.Tina Thatcher, amateur economists, hobbyist social engineer, pioneer enshittifyer extraordinaire, got her nick by gaslighting her subjects with frequently (as oft as she could) uttering: "there ain't no alternative".
If one acceps that pigsty-liner, then it is as good as things can get.
You guys got me to look up “KSL Classifieds”. Colorado is so close!I’ve been to Murphy’s. I don’t remember the names of the guys there but they seemed quite nice. I build and fix my own instruments so repair guys aren’t an issue. Definitely had my share of crickets on KSL. I guess don’t make KSL messenger an option if you’re not going to read the messages?!? Or list a contact option you’ll actually check.
Thanks, haven't been to Murphys yet but I've had enough poor experiences with Ray on a personal level & as a luthier to say hard pass.
I check KSL, CL & marketplace regularly but have not found a single piece of cool bass gear posted locally in years.
Yes. I search for Benge (trumpet) and I get useless results. I've bought many trumpets here...eBay is now better than Reverb.Just needing to vent, but also hoping someone from the mothership actually sees this. We all know Reverb has been sliding since the acquisition, but 2026 has been a total nosedive.
I usually scroll through Bass Guitars, Amps, and Pedals on my work breaks, but lately, it’s a chore. The "Bump" feature has turned the feed into a landfill. Nearly half of every page is just low-effort, hot garbage listings. To make it worse, it’s the same handful of sellers dumping redundant, duplicate ads with massive bump percentages to stay at the top.
We desperately need a "Mute Seller" or "Hide Duplicates" feature. I’m tired of digging through a mountain of trash just to find some cool listings.
Anyone else experiencing this on your non-curated feeds?
