Reverb for Bass

I have the walrus slo but use it as an effect, basically lots of modulation and the octave down setting on full wet to make creepy noises on intros
I'd ever wanted to just have it as a normal reverb, dial back the x and the modulation and it would be normal

I have one of these on the way (the Slötvå actually) and your description makes me feel good about that choice

I have the ehx oceans 11 still… and although it has sooo many options, the slo just makes it easier to dial in, plus can go more extreme if that's what you want. The modulated reverb on the oceans 11 is nice and pretty lush sounding , but I was going for creepy as an effect

There's lots of options on the market. Generally, the top priced digital units sound the best. I use an Eventide H9 and a Source Audio Collider (or Ventris) and they both sound superb. My advice is to look for a verb that has some kind of low retain function. Or the verb will muddy up the bass a lot, you really only want it on the top end. If you want very cheap, but sill pretty good, then look out for a S/H Zoom MS-70CDR. Some of the High Def verbs are pretty good.

I played with a borrowed pedal for a while and now trying out the plugin trial at home in depth. Never had the chance to do a side-by-side, so this is not exactly a scientific experiment, but just from memory, the plugin feels VASTLY superior thanks to that HPF slider under your fingers.

The pedal sounds amazing, but I do wish it had a master volume. I always wanted a bit more volume from it when on. I don't have it any longer, but I do miss the sound from time to time. The plug-in just has a lot more going on. They sound similar with the Wet 5 in the newer mode. I've been using reverbs from Make Sounds Loudly and Electronic Audio Experiments lately.

I have, use and love my Neunaber wet v5.
Have not tried but a few reverbs and never felt the need to look any farther once I landed on the Neunaber. Do not use reverb much but when I do it is the Wet V5…

I had the Illumine since it's launch - great algorithms and easily tweaked for bass - though the default presets were already well suited for lowenders.

Sold it recently as I have moved to the Quad Cortex and its offerings are equally inspiring.

I have the SolidGoldFX Surf Rider, made here in Montreal. It's probably intended for guitar but works just fine for bass guitar too. Makes practicing chords less tedious.
