Reverb for Bass

Reverb is my favorite effect for bass. I do play solo ambient bass only stuff now, but even when I was in experimental or post punk projects, I always found a place for reverb and have never been "lost in the mix".
Boss RV3- Best for a band setting. It's inherently a cold and trebly sound, but IME, that's what makes it cut through and not get too muddy. It's more creepy than ethereal.
Oceans 11- I love this mainly for the experimental modes. The Mod, Reverse, and Shim settings are gorgeous and great for textures.
EQD Afterneath- This thing seems made for bass frequencies. Creepy, droney, and just fun.
Dr Scientist BITQUEST- Inf Reverb mode is similar to the Afterneath, but more ethereal and ambient.
There are many more, but I'd start with something like the Oceans 11 which had many usable and great sounding modes and you can see what like

Matt, do you notice a more than normal delay when you turn the Wet v5 on until it actually comes on? I can't remember if my old v4 did this as it's been a while, but this v5 has an unfortunate drop in volume and then comes back with the effect on. Really unfortunate. Definitely one of my favorite reverb sounds available, no question.

I also really like the Catalinbread Talisman that I got recently. Fabulously warm plate reverb with controls that make it ideal for bass. Super happy I took a chance on it.
You know, for "standard" reverb I'm kinda surprised but I'm struggling to find a sound I like with my Empress on bass. It's great for all the specialty reverbs, but I just pulled out an old Mesa guitar amp with reverb and that built-in reverb sounds much better for just adding a dash of space, life, and character. I can't get the same effect out of the Empress using hall, plate, room, or spring settings. I'll keep working in it, but I'm definitely surprised at the comparison.
I still feel that the Empress is the best sounding reverb on bass that I've heard. It just has way more than I would ever need. I love that thing.
It's certainly not going anywhere. My need for the "normal" sounds are few and far between

I spent the last 90 minutes testing my V5 and I can't detect the slightest delay in activation and just the teeny, tiniest bit of momentary volume drop (so slight it was barely detectible about half the time depending on how I was playing and I was really, really hunting for it!). The almost imperceptible volume "fade" I'll call it, lasted literally about 1 second until the reverb "fully formed", for lack of a better expression. I am an absolute snob about volume drop in pedals especially reverb. That's why I have returned or flipped a wide variety of other high end, big name reverbs.
I was testing the V5 a dead silent room with headphones on directly out of my Bergantino B|amp.
I figured it out....I was using the v5 for 100% wet verb (volume loss with the original Wet, but not with the newer W3t). There is a pre delay designed into the Wet and W3t sounds, so without the the dry signal there is a delay because of this. That's what I was hearing. If you have your dry signal coming through then you won't hear what I'm talking about. No a problem as I'm using the Catalinbread Talisman for 100% wet, and adding the Neunaber after that. All good! I actually bought this for the original Wet sound, but am very much falling for the newer W3t sound. I freaking love these pedals.
...and I hear you on the volume drop thing. I've always flipped many a great sound pedal because of volume or low end drop (or both). Really disappointed that companies don't pay more attention to this, but they are mostly designing for guitar players. A lot of the smaller companies are getting hipper to this, though.
Whew! I'm really glad you didn't get a bad V5! I really, really adore mine. I've been looking for something like this for a LONG time and I think Neunaber just nailed it. I usually have it set on the W3T side (green) but tonight I really dug into the original Wet (blue) and I really like it too!
100% agree. This is the third version of their Wet pedal, and I also have their Wet plugin. I'm a big fan!
The only issue with this pedal is that you could easily have two on your board, one for Wet and the other for W3t!!

I have an "Arena Reverb", it's the GC Exclusive version of the TC Hall of Fame. I can get some nice effects out of it.
They have tweaked the Wet algorithm a handful of times now. The Wet is a bit darker. For me it makes for a great light to medium reverb with slight modulation built in. The newer W3t is wider and a bit brighter. I'm loving it for bigger washes of reverb.
I'm looking for a reverb for passages, creating pads under bass lines (that cut through) and intro/outro stuff. For me the basic shimmer-verb sounds nice but I'm getting kinda bored with the sound. My budget is 200. I was looking at the Afterneath and Walrus Slö, but are those pedals a bit too over the top?
Any recommendations? Or should I look into a delay/something else?

I'm a big fan of the EQD Dispatch Master having both delay and reverb simultaneously, and sounds great.
Been playing with the Stereo Wet and I really dig it. I went through all the different effects on the software and landed on the Wet with Detune. Really nice and pretty without any mud.
