Reverb prices

I don't get it. I see a lot of stuff on there--some even used--with an asking price that's higher than retail, new. And then shipping on top of that price. I'm in Canada but still, I can tell the prices are over inflated.

What gives with this business model?

It’s a free market. Make an offer if available. Some folks also aren’t in a must sell situation. I do this all
the time, especially if the item is unusual.
In any other instance when you sell an item do you start with a discounted price and work down? Of course not. As somebody else mentioned, reverb brings a world of gear to your screen that L&M or GC etc doesn’t necessarily carry

I've never paid the listed price on Reverb. I only go after things that let you make offers, and then I wheel and deal from there. I scored a NOS Stingray 5 with matching headstock for $1,400 and a new Ibanez SR2605 for $1,200. There are deals to be had if you're patient.

When looking at reverb and eBay for that matter I search by price range. If what I’m looking for is listed overpriced Ill never see it. Wish the TB classifieds had the same feature. But yeah on reverb click on filter and type in the price range you’re good with.
